Would you like a bear hug?

I met up with a girlfriend for a quick catchup over food at one of my favourite Korean cafes. The weather was being moody as usual, so I decided to bundle up in the faux fur jacket I bought from Nastygal last year. It is probably one of the warmest jackets I own, and I'm not going to lie. I feel pretty baller when I wear it. I went for a quick shopping trip when I had to return a shirt I bought, and so I needed to find something from the store to exchange for, as they didn't believe in store credit. Pressured shopping is the worst, so I ended up picking up a cute blue skirt, I hope I get a chance to wear it soon.

I indulged in one of my favourite pasttimes whilst waiting for the bf to watch Kung Fu Panda 2 (it was really good, go and watch it!); drinking an iced latte, reading a trashy celebrity gossip magazine whilst chilling in Starbucks and people watching.

Let my feet do the talking

It was a beautiful sunny winter's day today, the past few weeks of rain and studying had almost made me forget just how enticing the winter sun can be. It seemed like it would be a wonderful day, I was planning to spend the afternoon at Tiffany & Co with my Aunty after all, and that is always something to look forward to.

It seemed like it would be a beautiful day until I pulled my back muscle. Unfortunate as that may be, I kinda wish it was doing something cool; being an extra on the Mission Impossible set, strutting around Paris in super high Louboutins or even a gym injury.

Nope, my body is far less creative than that. I pull my back muscles sneezing. So, I spent all day experiencing what it would feel like when I get old and have to pay for a lifetime spent in heels.

But I didn't let that ruin my day. Especially when I received an extra special present in the mail from Luisviaroma; it was an impulse buy during the dreary study period days. A pair of Chiara Ferragni heels had come on sale and I didn't have the mental stability to say no (so really, the university should supplement me for those shoes...) I've seen Chiara wear her shoes on her blog and fell in love instantly. They are absolutely stunning and it totally completely lifted my mood today (as did the little gift that I picked up from T&C today).

The bow-tied shoe box. The red crocodile embossed paper. That heel.

Lust.

My fairytale beginning

Image: Tumblr

Every great love affair has a magical, almost ethereal beginning. How they end is a matter of patience, dedication and perhaps a little fairy dust.

My first heart palpitation was at a very tender age. It was that initial fascination that would lead to a lifetime of devotion. As a young child, I was enchanted watching my mother get dressed. And it was then, at those precious moments, that fashion first crawled its way into my heart. If the stories are anything to go by, I began tottering around in her high heels at age 3; apparently, I was a natural, the way I conquered those stairs. But to be fair, my mother has quite petite feet (the perfect size 36; excellent during sales) and high heels weren't nearly quite as high those days.

Like every relationship, we've had our high (the very first Chanel), we've had our lows (tragic denim on denim mistakes), we've had our nasty falls in public and we've also shared that surge of joy at creating that perfect outfit. Through it all, the love remains, even during my dirty affair with ultra low-rise jeans (during the Paris Hilton days; nothing but painful memories)

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is. After all that we've been through, fashion & I.

This is my vow to the one everlasting love of my life.

Ever thine, ever mine, ever ours.
